A technician's tablet spends its day on plant floors, in hangars and plant rooms, in the rain and on vehicle dashboards. A consumer tablet usually has no ingress protection rating or drop rating, often has no NFC or SIM slot, and is built for indoor use. Consumer models also change frequently, which is awkward for a fleet that has to be imaged and managed together.

This page sets out what Sisteplant publishes about the devices Prisma Mobile Maintenance runs on, which Tuga tablets meet those published requirements, how to get the app running, and what to think about before a fleet order. One of our customers, an industrial asset-management firm, bought a Tuga A10 for maintenance technicians at an aerospace manufacturer to run this app.

Requirements

What Prisma Mobile Maintenance (Prisma CMMS) needs from a device

Each item below comes from Sisteplant, S.L.'s own listing or documentation, with the source linked.

  • Android 8.0 or later for the technician app

The Google Play listing for Prisma Mobile Maintenance (package com.sisteplant.prisma, developer Sisteplant) states that the app requires Android 8.0 and up. The current version at the time of checking was 13.0.6, updated on 6 May 2026. Sisteplant also publishes an iOS and iPadOS app under the different name Prisma Mobile, which requires iOS 11.0 or iPadOS 11.0 or later. Source: play.google.com

  • A Prisma server the app can connect to

The app is a front end to a Prisma installation. The App Store listing states a server at Prisma 3 V8.2.1.166 or later is needed, and Sisteplant's Prisma 4 release bulletin says the store versions of the apps are compatible with all Prisma 4 sub-versions. The bulletin also states that an SSL (https) installation is required for downloading the apps and for web camera access. Source: apps.apple.com

  • Offline working for work-order reporting, with some functions online only

Google Play describes Prisma Mobile as a multi-device app that can be used both online and offline, allowing it to be used in areas with no signal. It lists online and offline work-order reports covering labour, external material, warehouse articles with readable labels, preventive and predictive maintenance rules, defects, causes and actions, load, texts, images and digital signature. The same listing marks access to the asset hierarchy and start and end labour time logging as online functions. The Prisma 4 bulletin adds that offline login works only with the last credentials used. Source: play.google.com

  • QR code and barcode reading through the device camera

Google Play lists direct access to a work order or an asset by QR code or barcode reading, and warehouse articles with readable labels. Sisteplant's training page describes identifying assets, work orders and spare parts with the camera of your phone or tablet. No dedicated scan engine is specified by the vendor. Source: sisteplant.com

  • NFC for asset and spare-part identification

Sisteplant's training page carries the heading identification by barcode, QR or NFC for assets, work orders and spare parts, and a Sisteplant webinar page repeats that assets, work orders and spare parts can be identified with barcodes, QR or NFC. RFID is not mentioned in any vendor source we found, so we do not claim RFID support. Source: sisteplant.com

  • Microsoft Edge or Chrome for the Prisma web front end on Windows

The Prisma 4 release bulletin states that browsing with Internet Explorer is not possible from release 12 onwards and names Microsoft Edge and Chrome as the supported browsers. The technician app is published only on Google Play and the Apple App Store; we found no Windows build or Microsoft Store listing, so on a Windows device the relevant software is the web front end used by planners and coordinators. • No published device models or screen-size guidance

Sisteplant does not publish recommended tablet models, hardware specifications or screen-size guidance. Google Play calls Prisma Mobile a multi-device app for mobile devices, and the vendor's training page refers to using the camera of your phone or tablet. Device choice is therefore down to the buyer, within the Android 8.0 or later requirement. Source: play.google.com

Devices

Which Tuga device fits Prisma Mobile Maintenance (Prisma CMMS)

Picked on the published requirements above and nothing else.

Our pick

Tuga A10 £449

The Tuga A10 (£449) is our primary pick for Prisma Mobile Maintenance because the technician app is an Android app and the A10 runs Android 14, which is above the Android 8.0 minimum published on Google Play. Its 10.1 inch 1920 x 1200 screen gives room for work-order detail, checklists and attached drawings, the 13MP rear camera with flash is what the app's camera-based QR and barcode reading will use, and the built-in NFC reader covers the NFC tag identification Sisteplant describes. IP68 and MIL-STD-810H ratings, an 8000mAh battery and 4G dual SIM suit plant and hangar work where Wi-Fi is patchy and the app's offline mode is doing the work. This is the model an industrial asset-management customer of ours bought for technicians at an aerospace manufacturer to run this app.

  • Android 8.0 or later required by Google Play: the A10 runs Android 14.
  • QR and barcode reading through the camera: 13MP rear camera with flash (scanning is handled by the app; the A10 has no dedicated scan engine).
  • NFC identification of assets and spare parts: NFC built in.
  • Offline work-order reporting in areas with no signal, syncing later: 4G dual SIM and dual-band Wi-Fi 5 for sync, 8000mAh battery, 128GB storage plus microSD up to 2TB for downloaded master data and photos.
  • Plant-floor conditions: IP68, MIL-STD-810H, tempered glass, operating temperature -20 to 60C, 680g with hand strap in the box.
Alternative

Tuga A6 £299

The Tuga A6 (£299) is the alternative for teams that want a handheld that fits in a pocket or belt holster rather than a 10 inch tablet. It also runs Android 14, so it meets the same Android 8.0 or later requirement, and it has NFC and a 50MP main camera for the app's QR, barcode and NFC identification. It adds 5G, a larger 10600mAh battery with 33W fast charge, IP68 plus IP69K sealing and glove mode. The trade-off is the 6.78 inch screen, which suits scanning, quick reporting and photo capture better than reading long work orders or drawings.

  • Android 8.0 or later required by Google Play: the A6 runs Android 14.
  • QR and barcode reading through the camera: 50MP main camera plus 64MP night-vision camera.
  • NFC identification of assets and spare parts: NFC built in.
  • Offline and sync: 5G and Wi-Fi 5, 10600mAh battery, 256GB storage plus microSD up to 2TB.
  • Handheld use: 6.78 inch FHD+ 120Hz screen at 560 nits, Gorilla Glass 5, glove mode, 441g, IP68 and IP69K, MIL-STD-810H.
Alternative

Tuga W10 £649

The Tuga W10 (£649) is not for the technician app, because Sisteplant publishes Prisma Mobile Maintenance only for Android and iOS and we found no Windows build. Its role is the Prisma web front end, which Sisteplant says runs in Microsoft Edge or Chrome. Windows 11 Pro on the W10 ships with Edge, so a planner, coordinator or stores supervisor who needs the full web application at a workshop bench, in a stores office or in a vehicle can use it there, with RJ45 Ethernet for a wired connection and HDMI for a larger screen. Consider it only if your planners need Windows on the floor; for technicians, buy the A10 or A6.

  • Prisma web front end in Microsoft Edge or Chrome: Windows 11 Pro with the full desktop Edge browser.
  • Wired connection in plant offices and stores: 100Mbps RJ45 Ethernet, plus dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and optional 4G LTE.
  • Larger screen for planning boards: HDMI output, USB-A and USB-C for a keyboard and mouse.
  • Workshop conditions: IP65 (dust tight and protected against water jets, not rated for immersion), removable 5000mAh battery, 10.1 inch 1280 x 800 multi-touch screen.
  • Label reading at the stores bench: optional 2D barcode scanner and optional UHF RFID reader (Sisteplant documents barcode, QR and NFC identification; it does not mention RFID, so an RFID reader would be for your own labelling, not a Prisma feature).
Setting up

Getting Prisma Mobile Maintenance (Prisma CMMS) running

  1. Confirm with your Prisma administrator or Sisteplant that your server version supports the current app (the App Store listing states Prisma 3 V8.2.1.166 or later, and Sisteplant says the store apps are compatible with all Prisma 4 sub-versions) and that it is reachable over https, which the Prisma 4 bulletin says is required for app downloads and camera access.
  2. On the Tuga A10 or A6, sign in to a Google account (a managed account from your mobile device management system if you use one), open Google Play and install Prisma Mobile Maintenance by Sisteplant.
  3. Open the app and sign in with the server details and user credentials your Prisma administrator provides. Do the first sign-in with a connection, because the vendor states offline login works only with the last credentials used on the device.
  4. Let the app download its master data on first connection, then test a QR code or barcode scan and an NFC tag read on a real asset label before rolling out to the team.
  5. Check an offline cycle: put the tablet in flight mode, report a work order, reconnect and confirm it syncs. Remember that Sisteplant lists asset hierarchy access and start and end labour time logging as online functions.
  6. For the Prisma web front end on a Tuga W10, open Microsoft Edge, browse to your Prisma https address and sign in. On any model, fit a screen protector and add a vehicle mounting dock or charging dock before the devices go out.
Accessories

Worth adding

  • Charging dock, £49.99 (A10, W10): a shared return point at the end of a shift so tablets are charged for the next one.
  • Vehicle mounting dock, £109: for maintenance contractors and site teams who work from a van and need the tablet charged and secured between jobs.
  • Tempered glass screen protector 2-pack, £14: cheap insurance for a screen that will be tapped with dirty gloves and set down on benches.
  • Capacitive stylus, £14.99: for digital signatures on work-order reports and for picking small fields in gloves.

Questions

Prisma Mobile Maintenance (Prisma CMMS) on a Tuga device

Sisteplant's Google Play listing states the app requires Android 8.0 and up. The Tuga A10 and Tuga A6 both run Android 14, so they meet that published requirement. We do not claim any certification, approval or official compatibility from Sisteplant. The app also needs a Prisma server at a supported version, which is a matter for your Prisma administrator. If you want to be sure before committing, buy a single unit, install the app from Google Play and test it against your own server within our 30-day returns period.

Partly, according to the vendor. Google Play states that Prisma Mobile can be used both online and offline, allowing it to be used in areas with no signal, and lists online and offline work-order reports covering labour, materials, warehouse articles, maintenance rules, defects, causes and actions, texts, images and digital signature. The same listing marks access to the asset hierarchy and start and end labour time logging as online functions, and the Prisma 4 bulletin says offline login works only with the last credentials used on the device. The A10's 4G dual SIM and the A6's 5G give technicians a way to sync as soon as they are back in coverage.

Yes. Business buyers can request a quote and pay by bank transfer against a proforma invoice. Tuga Hardware is the trading name of Destello Tech Ltd (company 16595781). We are not VAT registered, so the prices shown have no VAT to add. We deliver to UK addresses only.

Sisteplant publishes no screen-size guidance. Google Play calls the app a multi-device app and the vendor's training page refers to using the camera of your phone or tablet, so this is your call. The A10's 10.1 inch 1920 x 1200 screen suits reading full work orders, checklists and attached drawings, and it comes with a hand strap. The A6's 6.78 inch screen is brighter at 560 nits, fits in a pocket or the £22 belt holster, has a larger 10600mAh battery with 33W fast charge, and adds 5G, IP69K and glove mode. Teams that mostly scan, report and take photos tend to prefer the A6; teams that read a lot of detail on the device prefer the A10. Both run Android 14 and both have NFC.

Trial one unit before you kit out the team.
