Free UK delivery/Business quotes and proforma invoices/12-month warranty/30-day returns

That is work done beside machines, in plant rooms, on roofs and in yards. A consumer tablet is not sealed against dust and wash-down, its glass cracks when it falls off a conveyor guard, and the battery is not sized for a full shift of photo attachments and syncing. Fiix also sets specific conditions: the app must come from the Google Play Store, the device must run Android 11 or later and must not be rooted or modified.

This page sets out what Fiix publishes about device requirements, which Tuga tablet meets them, where the limits are, and how to get a unit set up. Tuga Hardware is an independent UK seller and has no connection with Fiix or Rockwell Automation.

Requirements

What Fiix CMMS needs from a device

Each item below comes from Fiix by Rockwell Automation's own listing or documentation, with the source linked.

  • Android 11 or later for the mobile app

Fiix's technical requirements article (updated 12 August 2026) states the mobile app needs Android version 11 or later, and iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. The 20 July 2026 release note for mobile v1.60.0 confirms Android 10 is no longer supported. The Google Play web listing did not show a 'Requires Android' value when checked on 12 October 2026, so the help centre article is the source used here. Source: helpdesk.fiixsoftware.com

  • Install from Google Play only, on an unmodified device

Fiix's technical requirements article states it does not support modded or rooted Android or iOS devices, does not support enterprise mobile management (EMM) solutions, and does not support side-loaded apps; the app must be installed from the Play Store (package fiix.cmms.mobile). Fiix's mobile app FAQ adds that the app can be used with mobile device management (MDM) software, but any issues arising from the integration must be addressed through the MDM software itself, and that Windows OS and Amazon Fire OS are not supported. The 7 April 2026 release note (mobile v1.58.0) added root detection and states rooted devices are no longer compatible with the mobile app or web app. Source: helpdesk.fiixsoftware.com

  • Offline mode, with storage for attachments and enough battery for a shift

Fiix says the mobile app can be used in offline mode and most features are available offline. Changes, including files and images, are saved locally and sync when a stable connection returns. Fiix's sync article says the Android app auto-syncs every 15 minutes and on actions such as opening, creating, leaving or submitting a work order; manual sync is under More. Its sync checklist asks for enough storage for attachments held locally and a device charged sufficiently for the shift, suggesting an external power bank. Unsynced work is lost if the user logs out, if an app update with a database change forces a re-login, or if the app is idle for more than 30 days. Fiix's mobile app FAQ says 'View all work orders' needs an active internet connection. Source: helpdesk.fiixsoftware.com

  • Barcode and QR scanning through the device camera

Fiix's scanner article describes tapping Scan and pointing the phone at a barcode or QR code; no Bluetooth or dedicated scanner is documented for the mobile app. Fiix's supported barcode types article lists Aztec, Code 39, Code 39 mod 43, Code 93, Code 128, DataMatrix, EAN-8, EAN-13, Interleaved 2 of 5, ITF14, PDF417 and UPC-E, and the scanner article covers Fiix-generated QR codes. Fiix's QR codes and barcodes FAQ says the mobile app scanner can read codes with inverted colours, notes that damaged, small, smudged, covered or glossy labels can be hard to scan, recommends a label size of at least 22 mm, and suggests testing a small sample of tags on multiple camera devices. • Phone or tablet, with landscape mode on tablets

Fiix's About the mobile app article says the app gives access to CMMS features on a phone or tablet. Fiix's mobile app FAQ says landscape mode is available for tablets and Android phones, but not for iOS phones. Fiix publishes no recommended devices, screen sizes or rugged hardware list. Source: helpdesk.fiixsoftware.com

  • Windows: browser web app only

There is no native Windows app and no Microsoft Store listing; Fiix's mobile app FAQ states Windows OS is not supported for the mobile app. The full Fiix web app runs in Chrome, Firefox or Safari (latest version recommended) on the latest version of Windows, macOS or Unix/Linux, with a 2 Mbps internet connection and 500 MB RAM. Fiix describes it as used on an Internet-connected device, and says CMMS data is not stored on the computer or device. Offline mode is documented for the mobile app only. • NFC and RFID: not documented

Fiix's help centre, Play listing and App Store listing describe barcode and QR scanning only. No NFC or RFID feature is documented. The NFC on the Tuga A10 and A6 and the optional UHF RFID reader on the Tuga W10 should not be treated as Fiix features. Source: helpdesk.fiixsoftware.com

Devices

Which Tuga device fits Fiix CMMS

Picked on the published requirements above and nothing else.

Our pick

Tuga A10 £449

The Fiix CMMS mobile app is an Android app, so the Tuga A10 is the primary pick for technicians. It runs Android 14, which meets Fiix's published requirement of Android 11 or later, and it is a standard, unrooted Android tablet that installs the app from Google Play. The 10.1 inch 1920 x 1200 screen gives the tablet landscape layout that Fiix describes, with room for work order detail, parts lists and photos. IP68 sealing and MIL-STD-810H build suit plant floors and outdoor assets, and 128GB of storage with microSD expansion covers the locally held attachments that Fiix's offline mode needs. At £449 with free UK delivery it is a sensible single trial unit before a fleet order.

  • Fiix requires Android 11 or later: the A10 runs Android 14, so it meets that requirement.
  • Fiix landscape mode on tablets: 10.1 inch FHD IPS 1920 x 1200 screen, 350 nits, tempered glass.
  • Fiix offline mode stores attachments locally: 128GB storage plus microSD up to 2TB, 8GB RAM.
  • Fiix camera-based barcode and QR scanner: 13MP rear camera with flash. Scanning is handled by the app through the camera; the A10 has no dedicated scan engine, so test your sample labels as Fiix advises.
  • Fiix asks for a device charged for the shift and a connection to sync: 8000mAh battery, 4G dual SIM, dual-band Wi-Fi 5. IP68 and MIL-STD-810H, operating temperature -20 to 60C.
Alternative

Tuga A6 £299

The Tuga A6 is the alternative where a handheld that fits in a pocket or belt holster matters more than screen size. It runs Android 14, so it also meets Fiix's Android 11 or later requirement, and it is installed and used the same way as the A10. Fiix's BSW Timber case study describes UK engineers using the mobile app on phones, and the A6 is the closest Tuga device to that pattern. It has higher-resolution cameras than the A10, which is relevant because Fiix scanning runs through the camera, and it adds 5G, a larger battery and IP69K for wash-down areas. The 6.78 inch screen shows less of a work order at once than the A10.

  • Fiix requires Android 11 or later: the A6 runs Android 14, so it meets that requirement.
  • Fiix camera-based scanner and photo attachments: 64MP night-vision camera plus 50MP main camera.
  • Fiix offline mode and sync: 256GB storage, 12GB RAM, microSD up to 2TB, 5G and Wi-Fi 5 for syncing when back in coverage.
  • Shift-length use: 10600mAh battery with 33W fast charge, 441g, glove mode, Gorilla Glass 5.
  • Harsh environments: IP68 and IP69K, MIL-STD-810H, operating temperature -20 to 60C.
Alternative

Tuga W10 £649

Fiix has no Windows mobile app, so the Tuga W10 is not a device for the technician app. It is the pick for supervisors, planners or storeroom staff who need the full Fiix web app at a workbench, a goods-in desk or a line-side station in a dusty or wet area. The W10 runs Windows 11 Pro, so a desktop browser such as Chrome or Firefox, which Fiix lists as supported, runs the web app in full. It has a wired Ethernet port for stable connections where Wi-Fi is poor, HDMI for a larger monitor, and a pogo pin dock connector for the charging dock. Note that Fiix describes the web app as used on an Internet-connected device with no data stored locally, so the W10 needs a live connection whenever Fiix is open, and its IP65 rating is for dust and water jets, not immersion.

  • Fiix web app needs Chrome, Firefox or Safari on a current version of Windows: Windows 11 Pro on an Intel N100 up to 3.4GHz with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
  • Fiix web app needs a 2 Mbps connection and is used online: 100Mbps RJ45 Ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, optional 4G LTE.
  • Fixed-station or workbench use: HDMI, USB-A, USB-C, pogo pin dock connector, removable 5000mAh battery (run time depends on load).
  • Plant conditions short of immersion: IP65 (dust tight, protected against water jets, not rated for immersion), 10.1 inch 1280 x 800 IPS multi-touch screen, 1197g.
Setting up

Getting Fiix CMMS running

  1. Create a Fiix account at fiixsoftware.com or use your organisation's existing one. Fiix's published plans are the Free plan ($0, limited users, up to 25 active preventive maintenance tasks, mobile app included), Basic at $45 per user per month, Professional at $75 per user per month and Enterprise at custom pricing. Plans are month-to-month or annual. Prices are published in dollars; there is no GBP price list.
  2. Connect the Tuga A10 or A6 to Wi-Fi or fit a SIM, sign in to a Google account, and install Fiix CMMS from the Google Play Store (developer Fiix by Rockwell Automation, package fiix.cmms.mobile). Do not side-load the APK or root the device, as Fiix does not support either. If your fleet is managed by MDM software, note that Fiix's technical requirements say EMM solutions are not supported while its FAQ says the app can be used with MDM software with integration issues handled by the MDM vendor, so confirm your setup with Fiix first.
  3. Open the app and sign in with your Fiix user credentials. The device runs Android 14, which meets Fiix's Android 11 or later requirement.
  4. Before taking the tablet into a low-signal area, open the app while connected so the data syncs. Fiix says most features work in offline mode. The Android app syncs automatically every 15 minutes when connected, and a manual sync is available under More. Sync before logging out, because unsynced changes are lost on logout.
  5. Print a few sample asset labels and test them with the in-app camera scanner before tagging the whole site, as Fiix's barcode FAQ advises (it recommends labels of at least 22 mm and a matte finish). Fiix documents no Bluetooth or dedicated scanner for the mobile app, so there is nothing to pair.
  6. Fit the hand strap supplied in the A10 box, and add a charging dock for the workshop or a vehicle mounting dock for site vans. For a Tuga W10, install Chrome or Firefox and open your organisation's macmms.com address to use the full web app.
Accessories

Worth adding

  • Charging dock, £49.99 (A10 and W10): a fixed charging point in the workshop or control room so tablets start each shift charged, which Fiix's sync checklist asks for.
  • Vehicle mounting dock, £109: for mobile technicians and fleet or utilities teams working out of vans between sites.
  • Tempered glass screen protector 2-pack, £14: protects the display where tablets are set down on steel benches and machine frames.
  • Rugged carry case, £34: for engineers who move between buildings or sites with the tablet and a few tools.

Questions

Fiix CMMS on a Tuga device

Fiix publishes a requirement of Android 11 or later for its mobile app, installed from the Google Play Store on a device that is not rooted or modified. The Tuga A10 and the Tuga A6 run Android 14 and are standard, unrooted Android devices, so they meet the published requirement. Tuga Hardware does not claim any certification or approval from Fiix; the app is Fiix's and support for it comes from Fiix.

Yes, on the Android mobile app. Fiix says most features work in offline mode, with changes, photos and files saved locally and synced when a connection returns. The Android app auto-syncs every 15 minutes when connected. Fiix also warns that unsynced work is lost if the user logs out, if an update forces a re-login, or if the app is idle for more than 30 days, and that 'View all work orders' needs an active internet connection. Fiix documents offline mode for the mobile app only; the web app, which is what a Windows tablet such as the Tuga W10 would use, is described as running on an Internet-connected device with no data stored locally.

Only through a browser. Fiix states that Windows OS is not supported for the mobile app and there is no Microsoft Store listing. The W10 runs Windows 11 Pro, so Chrome or Firefox, both listed by Fiix as supported, open the full web app. That suits planners, supervisors and storeroom staff. It needs a live connection (Fiix specifies 2 Mbps) and Fiix documents no offline mode for the web app, so it is not a substitute for the Android app in no-signal areas.

Yes to both. A single trial unit before a fleet order is welcome. Business buyers can request a quote and pay by bank transfer on a proforma invoice. Tuga Hardware is not VAT registered, so there is no VAT to add to the listed prices. Delivery is free within the UK in 7 to 10 working days, there is a 30-day return period and a 12-month warranty. Multi-unit discounts apply automatically: 3% at 2 units, 5% at 3 to 4, 8% at 5 to 9 and 10% at 10 or more.

Fiix says the mobile app works on phones and tablets and offers landscape mode on tablets, but publishes no recommended screen size. The A10's 10.1 inch 1920 x 1200 screen shows more of a work order, parts list or attached drawing at once and suits a vehicle or charging dock. The A6 at 441g fits a pocket or belt holster, has 5G, a larger 10600mAh battery, IP69K and higher-resolution cameras (64MP and 50MP), which matters because Fiix scanning runs through the camera. Fiix's BSW Timber case study says every engineer has the mobile app and a mobile phone, its Dunlop Aircraft Tyres case study says engineers needed access from a phone or tablet, and the Barrett Steel press release mentions testing schedules on mobile phones and tablets, so both patterns are in use.
